Illegal Thai Nationals Caught In the Country, 5 of Them Infected With Delta Variant.

Sihanouksville: On Friday a Police team raided the Golden World Casino in Sihanouksville’s Bei Commune and arrested three Chinese nationals and a Thai man. They were caught smuggling in 36 Thai nationals, of which ten were women, to live and work illegally in Cambodia.

The provincial hospital doctors conducted the Covid-19 rapid tests on the 36 illegal workers, and found that five of them were infected with the Delta variant. Preah Sihanouk Provincial police Chief General Chuon Narin confirmed that those infected were taken to a hotel treatment centre. The other 31 Thais, smuggled into the country, will have to carry out the mandatory 14 day quarantine, before being referred to a provincial court.

The smugglers were arrested by the provincial police in Sihanoukville. They are being interrogated and will have to face legal procedures.
